Japan is a country which is well-known for its writing culture. Shodō is a Japanese word which is often translated as ‘the way of artistic handwriting’ or beautiful writing and describes the very moment in which thought flows through the hand and becomes visible on paper.

The Leuchtturm 1917 gel pen refill was developed in Japan, in order to reproduce in everyday life and as accurately as possible the fineness of ink strokes that were traditionally created with a brush. It makes the multiple award-winning Drehgriffel Nr. 1 pen from LEUCHTTURM1917 a premium instrument for writing and drawing.

My favourite pen

I love this. It looks so classy. The twist mechanism keeps the tip clean. It’s easy to get refills. This was to replace one I’ve lost… because I can’t live without it!

Help!

Postage is never free but to say a big thank you, we will pay for your postage if you spend over £50.

Shipping is free for orders over £50. For all other orders shipping is £2.95 for up to 750g, £3.95 for up to 2kg or £4.95 for up to 4kg.

Upgrade to Tracked 24 for £5.95.

We typically post orders out within 1-2 business days of ordering. From there shipping may take 3-5 business days. We use Royal Mail 2nd Class as standard or you can upgrade to Tracked 24 if you are in a hurry.

We aim to post out orders as soon as possible, often on the same day Monday to Friday. As soon as your order has been packed, you will receive a dispatch email. Royal Mail collect our parcels at 4 pm each day. If there are going to be any delays or an item is out of stock, I will send you an email so do keep an eye on your inbox just in case.

If your order includes a Rowan Berry Box, or an After Dark Box, it will be posted out once those items are ready. If you need something quickly, I recommend placing a separate order.
