Popcorn Grip Cap Erasers
We have to say that our favourite part of this quarter’s box is the popcorn erasers! They look good enough to eat, don't they?! Wonderfully packaged in a vintage style cardboard popcorn box, you get 12 pieces for all of your favourite pencils.
Disclaimer alert: Don’t feed these to your elephants!!
This box comes with two washi tapes - one 30mm and one 15mm. The 30mm comes with a beautiful sepia-toned repeat pattern that really captures the essence of Circus gone by. The 15mm features bright and bold watercolour illustrations.
A5 Vintage Circus Illustrated Notebook
We decided we wanted to provide something super versatile for you this quarter, so what better way to do that than mix up the papers! As well as the seriously cool Circus themed illustrations, this notebook also has a mix of dotted, plain and lined papers so that you can use it in any way you prefer.
Faber-Castel Charcoal Sketch Set
You have everything you need to try sketching with charcoals with this 7-piece starter set. It includes a variety of materials that can be used together or separately. Charcoal is one of the oldest known sketching tools and loads of fun!
This set contains 2 Pitt natural charcoal sticks, 1 Pitt charcoal medium pencil, 1 Pitt compressed charcoal soft stick, 1 Pitt pastel pencil white in medium, 1 kneadable eraser and 1 blending stump.
Tips for using your charcoal sketch set
-
Don’t press down too hard or go too dark to begin with. It’s helpful to start off with different pressures so that you can produce different shades of grey and black and get to know the medium that you are working with.
-
Keep your paper clean. Charcoal can be messy! You may find that you end up with it all over your hands, arms and clothes! It can be easy to smudge your work when you are first working with charcoal. To prevent this, use your pinky finger to rest on the paper rather than your whole hand/arm or rest your hand on a piece of transparent paper.
-
Experiment with the materials. Look up the different types of charcoal tools and the techniques you can use with them and have a play around with them! Have fun on many sheets of paper and find a style that feels good for you.
-
Try out different types of paper - the charcoal you use will look different depending on how textured the paper is.

Add some Circus flair to your outfit!
These illustrations were just too cool to hide so we have made something that you can wear - either on your jackets, bags or accessories (how cool would this look on a pencil case?!) The pin badge features the amazing knife throwing act - let us know in the comments where you’re going to pin yours!!
Let’s not forget about the all important sticker collection…
Time and time again, the feedback we get from you is that you LOVE stickers so for the Circus After Dark subscription box we wanted to make them as versatile as possible. That’s why we have created two washi paper sticker sheets to use in your bullet journals and scrapbooks PLUS there are three weather and dishwasher proof stand alone stickers. Our favourite is the fortune teller - she’s beautiful!!
